Winter Storm Warning In Effect Until 8 p.m., Commute Treacherous

Old Man Winter is getting one last punch in and he's making it a nasty one.

 

A winter storm warning will remain in effect for the Merrimack Valley through 8 p.m. this evening (March 19), with 6-10 inches of snow and a thin layer of ice in the forecast.

According to the National Weather Service, snow will be heavy at times throughout the day, but it will also be mixed with sleet and freezing rain, making for a treacherous morning commute.

Winds will be 10-20MPH through the day with gusts up to 30MPH. Temperatures will hover in the low 30s.

Tewksbury Public Schools have been cancelled for the day.

it is a heavy yucky storm! although it is already turning a bit slushy already...i am ready for a nice spring!
