With Another Storm Coming, When Will The School Year End?
Are students at risk of losing some of their summer vacation?
Question: Another winter storm is expected to dump another foot of snow Sunday. If Tewksbury loses more days of school, when will the school year end?
Answer: Interesting question. At the start of the school year, the last day of school was scheduled to be June 19. Having lost a day for snow and another day for an emergency, school is now scheduled to end on ... June 19.
According to Tewksbury School Department officials, five snow days are built into the schedule at the start of the school year. So, at this point, there could be three more snow days and school would end on June 19.
However, if there are no more snow days, school could end as early as June 16.

Just make sure it is safe enough for kids at bus stops...even now the end of the streets have such piles, and no sidewalks! ugg.

We've only had one REAL snow event this season. This winter has mostly been warm and uneventful. Let's not get in a panic now. Bring on the snow!

according to my records we lost two days back in October due to the hurricane and no power; snow days on 2/8, 3/8 and and 3/19. we have used up the five built in snow days and should be out on June 19th providing there are no more snow days. Anyone else have the same records?
