You Say You Want A Resolution, Well, You Know ...
Columnist Bob Leo takes a look at some healthy foods to help you keep your resolution to eat healthier.
I certainly hope you all had a holiday as wonderful as mine, but now that the eat, drink, and be merry is winding down, it's time to think of those New Year resolutions. If you're anything like me, you will resolve to lose those extra pounds and live a healthier lifestyle. This would be my 32nd year in a row and one of these years might actually get it right. Seriously, my waste line has fluctuated more than the Dow Jones over the years.
In my business losing weight is a very difficult endeavor. Not that it can't be done. Two summers ago I lost over 40 pounds, of course I found them and a few of their friends and they have definitely over stayed their welcome. So here are a few fat burning tricks that knock off pounds with out you knocking off some one's head.
It has been widely proven deprivation, fad diets , and crazy pills do not work. The key is to eat when your hungry but the right foods and counter that with a little exercise. The list of foods that help boost metabolism and burn fat is almost endless. These five super foods are a must:
Apples - elevate blood sugar for an extended period of time and reduce cravings
Asparagus- breaks down fat cells and flushes the body
Grapefruit- high in galacturonic acid that breaks down fat
Soybeans- block fat absorption
Berries- cause fat tissue to release individual fat cells
Many other foods aid in fat burning but these are five of the best. Without boring you to tears with the reasons why, I've compiled a list of healthy foods that will fight off cravings, speed up metabolism and/or burn fat.
Good luck and here's to a healthy and happy New Year !
