The sign out front said "LeLacheur Field." But for the Friends of Special Education Kids (FOSEK) Titan Tee-ballers, it was, without question, their field of dreams.

Last week, these young ballplayers, along with their "Buddy" players, had the chance to step out onto the home field of the Lowell Spinners and play a brief game before the Spinners' game that night.

Editor Bill Gilman was on-hand and captured these images.

Bill, Thank you for being there and posting these great pictures! Our kids had a great time and they had smiles all day. As I talked to our athletes during the Spinners game, they all mentioned how they played on the field like the Spinners!
I would like to thank the Lowell Spinners and specifically Jon Boswell (Director of Media Relations) who worked with us to bring this together and help us raise funds with a raffle. The entire Spinners organization from owner Drew Weber to the interns were great.
I would also like to thank Scott Winslow of Winslow Technology Group who's donation made it all possible. Scott sponsored the day for FOSEK and threw out the first pitch.
Finally I want to thank the parents, athletes and buddies who enthusiastically came and dove into the idea. We at FOSEK do what we do with the help of great parents and buddies. Without them we couldn't run our sports programs for the most incredible athletes in the Merrimack Valley!

Bill,

This event became a landmark in our organization. With the help of the FOSEK Board of Directors as well as Jon Boswell, Director of Public Relations as well as the hard work put in by our Board, mainly Bob Gill, we are sure that the word got spread that FOSEK is here to stay for many years to come. It is all about the kids and helping improve their health and fitness, improvement of their social skills, and make them better individuals as well as give them the opportunity to enjoy the sports programs they like.

We send our deepest appreciation for your support at PATCH. You were a big part of our success by the photos and article. FOSEK is very well received by Tewksbury as well as the communities throughout the Merrimack Valley. We have had several comments of appreciation from the families and friends of our athletes and I know this one memory that our athletes will remember forever.

With Best regards,

My pleasure gentlemen. These youngsters are an inspiration to anyone who has the good fortune to watch them play.

Don't forget Titan Tee Ball plays for the next 8 Sundays (except Labor Day and Columbus Day Weekends) behind the Ryan School in Tewksbury, MA from 2pm til
3pm. Registration for FOSEK players is always open. Also, Fall Soccer plays on Saturdays from 2pm til 3 pm, also behind the Ryan School. Buddies that are willing to volunteer their time helping our athletes are always needed.
Come have a ball!
