UPDATED: Woman Injured In Hit-and-Run, Police Seek Green Sedan
Police search for driver involved in Tuesday night incident.
UPDATED -- March 21, 3:40 p.m.
Tewksbury Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the car and driver involved in a hit-and-run accident Tuesday night (March 20) that left a young woman with serious injuries.
According to Tewksbury Police, the accident took place near 550 Whipple Road at around 10:41 p.m. Officers responding to the call arrived at the scene and located the victim, described as a a 29-year-old woman, "lying in a grassy area by the intersection of Whipple Road and Farwood Drive."
The victim was given immediate medical attention, and was then taken by ambulance to Saints Memorial Medical Center. A medical flight had originally been requested but was later cancelled.
State Police accident reconstruction and Crime Scene Services were requested and arrived at the scene a short time later.
According to Police Chief Timothy Sheehan,, a witness told investigators the victim was walking on Whipple Road towards Wilmington when they heard a loud “thump”. The witness told investigators they observed the victim lying in the grass, and observed a dark colored vehicle driving away on Whipple Road towards Lowell.
Investigators interviewed the victim, who was able to describe the car that hit her as a green sedan, possibly a Ford Taurus. The victim believed it was an older model, possibly 1996-2000.
According to Tewksbury Police, the victim was treated for her injuries at Saints and later released.

That is horrible. I hope the TPD and the MSP can find who injuried this young woman.
