Curriculaughs at the Dewing (photos)

Children's Author and performer Jeff Nathan presented his 'Curriculaughs" program at the Dewing school this week. Nathan's poetry-centric program teaches children the basics of poetry, and how they can create poetry from every day objects and experiences around them.

Nathan combines song and fun stories to present simple concept to the children. He uses topics such as school and sports to relate familiar themes, and then shows them how to turn that into poetry.

As a companion to the assembly program, teachers will work with their students to create their own poems.  These poems will be combined in book form and will be available for purchase by parents.

As the laughter and smiles show from the photos, the kids were very engaged and really enjoyed the CurricuLaughs program. This program was presented as part of arts and enrichment programming supported by the Dewing PAC.
