Assistant Principal Jan Fuller acted on a hunch- and scored. Knowing that the Dewing Library project needed furniture to help reach its objective, Mrs. Fuller stopped in to her local Bob's Discount Furniture store and inquired about any assistance that might be available. She figured a furniture store might just be the place to help out. Sure enough, the staff put her right in touch with the proper department. Mrs. Fuller sent a note, explained the project and waited to hear. "I figured there was nothing to lose" she said. "Retailers like to do outreach."
Little did she know, when a representative from Bob's showed up at the school, that her efforts paid off-big. Sharon Valley from Bob's stopped in to surprise the school with a large, poster-sized check for $1,000! No strings attached. Mrs. Fuller was thrilled to see the 21st century learning environment that she and Principal Paul Galello envision come closer to fruition.
The money will be used toward the purchase of more modern and comfortable furniture for the children, as well as new books and other remodeling where possible. The Dewing School would like to thank Bob's Discount Furniture for their generosity, and the Dewing community would like to thank Mrs. Fuller for her initiative in securing this grant for the school. Way to go!
