yeah I know her Susan is her name..she is all for the landlord. she is a very very angry woman. Too bad .there are some single moms out here that just cant do it all alone and she has no mercy.she would rather see a mother and her children on the street. I have a friend that her landlord has raise the rent so high and it is unheard of and lets him get away with some really bad living conditions, his rental is not fit for an animal to live in.actually animals do live in it ha no pun intended .maybe you should call her supervisor..although I dont think there is one down on livingston st , because if there was one he would have stepped up already..just go over head as high as you can till you get help..

I have tried for 4 years to get section 8 in this town....She is BRUTAL! Im a single mom who works 2 jobs..no child support and no help at all.....have been forced to live with my parents with my two children in one room, so JOE BILL....what do you say to children who dont see their mother because she works day and night for the cost of simple things in life like heat water rent food gas.....the list goes on and on! How dare you its men like you that dont have a clue what its like to truely be on your on and soon to be homeless!!!! Its also the state that knows how much child support is owed to me ten thousand dollars and though i have been to court....he is still out there with NO JOB...not me! And its also all the people let into this country on green cards and work visas who step in the way to make us ACTUAL AMERICANS wait for help that i do as well as you pay taxes for!

The welfare system is expected to be a hand up, not a hand out. I have volunteered in a homeless shelter and could pick out the probably 15-20% who were there due to the economy and needing a hand up, and those who were continuing the cycle. The entire system needs to be reformed. both the landlords AND the tenants need surprise random inspections. EBT recipients should have to retain receipts and show them upon request for what was purchased.

Kat, did you go to college? Are you aware of the school assistance available for yourself to get you better paying jobs? Perhaps staying with your parents where you have assistance with your two children is a better option so that you could attend classes. Even if you get an education here, perhaps after obtaining a degree, relocating to an area of the state that is less expensive to live in, would be a better goal than to waste more years hoping for your turn at Section 8. In this economy, the vouchers are not coming available anytime soon as there are a limited number available, and I'm guessing that will decrease after the election.

No one should have to work their life away, especially a mom with young children, Joe Bill needs to be educated. maybe if he were in the kind of situation that you and I find our selves in he wouldnt be so smug. He's probably her cousin or something. "jerk"

The problem is that People on Section 8 and the other welfare help are never taught to get out of the circle. I was a single mom and tried to get help, I was lucky to get the help when i needed it, but now I AM NOT, my husband and i work really hard for the things we have now. People get into the Rut, and cant get out...

Bill, I'm aware of that, but regardless of one's opinion of this topic (I happen to be a fiscal conservative), it leads to defamation of this individual's character. It's one thing to write an Op piece regarding the office, it's something else entirely to write a piece about the individual. That's really all I'm saying.

hahaa wow .this made my night. Replace her with some one that can get the job done. Single moms have one of the toughest jobs on Earth, and unless you have ever been in their position then you have no right to look down your nose at them. remember "thou shalt not judge". i notice its only men are upset, the same sex that abandons their own and leave the mothers to do it alone. Remember this could be your mother sister daughter aunt , I guess since its not , you can be so fast to put a mother and child out . Shame on you. and shame on whom ever this section 8 woman is.

I thought she just didn't like me,. She talks to my landlord frequently. then he blurts out everything to me. he says .she"s helping me ya see< she likes me,she doesnt like any one on section 8,shes all for me cause Im the landlord . What is that all about? I feel like they are conspiring behind my back. He asks for more money and she gives it to him. he has not lifted 1 finger to repair the rat hole I live in. I work hard too, my child's dad is no where to be found! when I ask her well is there a problem? why is he calling you? she says well I cant tell you .. She definitely throws gas on the fire when it comes to me and my landlord, gives him hints on things he can do to me. Maybe they are related. Maybe they are dating now..It is so fishy . I know its supposed to be about 1/3 of your income , but if there is nothing included you are supposed to get a differential , She makes sure there isnt one. I know some folk are up set about people like me getting help. I am truly sorry that it bothers you. I will be on my feet soon and will be able to stand on my own, and if any one of you ever need help (even though now you dont and are pissed) I hope you get it. I would trade places with you any day, I hate being on section 8. I am forced to live in shacks lol. no kidding. I say we all turn her in!! . . This cant continue. I wish we could vote her out of that office!
