October Happenings for Kids at the Library

We love October at the Library and we've got a ton of events lined up for the month!

Halloween Happenings:

  • It is our 3rd Annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest this year for kids age 3 to 12. Bring a decorated (no carving allowed) pumpkin to drop off in the Children's Room on October 19th or 20th. We'll snap a picture, take some info from you, and put it on display. Everyone can vote both online and in person from October 22nd to 25th and winners are announced on the 26th in 2 categories: ages 3 to 5 and ages 6 to 12. Then bring that pumpkin home in time for Halloween! Everyone will receive recognition for their pumpkin.
  • On Saturday, October 20th from 10:00am to noon, kids of all ages can bring a pumpkin into our Pumpkin Decorating Craft. We'll provide all kinds of materials to make your pumpkin into a masterpiece! You can then enter it in the contest or bring it home. Please bring your own pumpkins.
  • Preschoolers ages 3 to 6 can come to a drop in Halloween craft on Wednesday, October 24th between 11:00am and 12:00pm. No registration required, just drop by during the hour to make the craft.
  • We'll be having 2 Halloween Story Times at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 30th and Wednesday, October 31st for ages 3 to 6. Wear a costume if you like and enjoy some gently spooky stories.
  • Finally, be sure to wear a costume and come by the Library on Halloween day between 10:00am and 8:00pm. Kids in costume can trick or treat at all 3 service desks and pick up great treats! It is our annual Trick or Treat at the Library!
