Prominent Tewksbury Residents Support L'Italien

Many prominent Tewksbury residents today voiced their support for Barbara L'Italien's candidacy for State Representative in the 18th Essex District.

"Barbara L'Italien is energetic, highly qualified, and will work together with both sides for our community," said Tewksbury Selectman David Gay.

Gay was joined by fellow Selectman Todd Johnson who pointed out her ability to work with members of both parties to get things done, saying "Barbara has the skills, personality, and desire to work with all sides to achieve progress."

Praise of L'Italien's balanced and bi-partisan approach to politics was echoed by former Tewksbury School Committee member Rick O'Neill who noted that her leadership style directly benefits citizens in her district.

"Working together with both sides leads to better results for everyone," said O'Neill. "Barbara knows how to reach across the aisle and, as a result, all of her constituents benefit - Republicans and Democrats alike."

Joining Gay, Johnson and O'Neill, Tewksbury Planning Board member Nancy Reed embraced L'Italien's spirit and resolve.

"Barbara understands the value of working together to achieve the best for our region and town," Reed explained. "She has proven that she is willing to tackle an initiative wholeheartedly, while building consensus and support from both political parties."

Tewksbury Finance Committee member Leann D'Entremont pointed out how L'Italien has been able to work together with local officials to address her constituents' needs.

"Barbara L'Italien knows that the best way to serve her community is by working alongside local officials -- the finance committee, school committee and selectman," explained D'Entremont. "She has a balanced and bipartisan approach to representing our community."

Longtime Tewksbury natives and well-known community members Liz and Warren Carey have also been enthusiastic backers of L'Italien.

"Barbara L'Italien has shown that she works well with others and puts the voters' concerns first," they said. "We urge our friends and the resident of Precincts 3 and 3a in Tewksbury to support Barbara L'Italien's election for state representative!"

Barbara is a hacks hack. A former human service worker who doesn't want to get her hands dirty anymore. She has done nothing to improve the working conditions of those who provide care to our most helpless citizens.

Why does she emphasize that she can work with both parties? Am I missing something, or is not the House of representatives in Massachusetts around 85% Democrat? I do not think that the Republicans have a lot of power.

Everyone, Joe Bill, has a right and a choice to support whoever they want for elected office. Your comment about Liz Carey, who was a wonderful Town Clerk for many years and along with her husband are concerned citizens of the Town of Tewksbury. Please do not denigrate a persons reputation just because you may not agree with them!

Democrat office holders and other democrats support the democrat candidate. It would be newsworthy if they did not support her. Otherwise it is just a news release from the L'Italien campaign.
