On Jan. 18, the playoffs were held at Turf Time in Tewksbury. The girls headed into the playoffs with a 6-2 record and No. 3 seed in the single elimination playoffs. In the first game the locals completely dominated the North Andover team en route to a 3-0 victory. Lear Bear Leary and KG Gammons supplied the scoring punch for the Tewksbury Girls. The Tewksbury Girls were a promising 6-0 and looking for a #1 seed in the playoffs which will be held on Jan. 18 at Turf Time in Tewksbury before they hit a skid in the road. On Jan. 4 (perhaps still feeling the effects of the New Year) the girls were beaten 9-2 by the Aztecs. The girls were down 4-0 in this game before they even got warmed up. On Tuesday at Turf Time in Tewksbury the TYSL GU14 girls team improved to 4-0 by defeating the Cyclones of North Andover by a score of 3-0. KG (Kaleigh Gammon) scored early in this contest giving the locals a quick 1-0 lead. However, going into the half that was the only score in the game. Michelle Farraher kept the girls in the game with some key saves in the opening half. On Tuesday Night at Turf Time in Tewksbury the TYSL GU14 girls team improved to 2-0 with a hard fought 3-2 win over Andover. The team was just put together and missed the first week of the season before beating Billerica by a 3-0 score last week. In this weeks action: Ashley Colarusso scored her first goal of the contest early by scoring on a throw in from the corner that bounded by the Andover keeper for a 1-0 lead.
