The Red Pride A team won its contest on the merits of great defense and solid blocking by the offensive line that resulted in a 22-0 win over Timberlane’s A squad. Defense of the B team set the tone for the day, which saw several players with a multi tackle game. Division: Seacoast Team: Red Pride A Score: Red Pride 24 Derry Wolverines 0 Tewksbury Seacoast Red Pride sweep the Derry Wolverine with final tally for the A team was a decisive 24-0. The day was defined by the stinging defense of the Red Pride which was rewarded with the shut out. The defensive line lead by Giovanni Ciampa and Jackson Deroche and was reinforced by the linebacking core of Brandon Winn, Zach Frontain, and Joshua Sughrue. Northeast Junior High Football Bedford 28 Tewksbury 6 Tewksbury Division 2 Varsity Team had a tough go of it in Bedford, NH Saturday night. The Red Pride lost key starting players (Aaron Whitehouse and Justin Keough) in the first quarter. Dave Lindsey jumped in at cornerback for Whitehouse, while Tyler Ward filled in for Keough at cornerback and running back. Billy Tamboli, Tyler Ward and Matt Fortier ran for some tough, hard runs. Tewksbury Youth Football hosted its final games of the season this weekend. The undefeated Cheyenne won over the Mohawk to become the Junior Division Champions; the Sioux overcame the Cherokee with the only touchdown of a close game to earn the Intermediate Division Champion title; and the Chiefs battled the Giants to be named Senior Division Champions. All the players and cheerleaders were treated to a pizza party at the conclusion of the awards ceremonies for both the Championship and Consolation games in each division. SENIOR DIVISION: Titans 13 – Raiders 6 The Titans even up the season series with the Raiders. In their second collision of the year, the Titans were able to capture a win against a solid Raiders team, 13-6, this past Sunday morning. The Titan Offense was balanced and controlled by quarterback Steven Hamel, who passed for a TD and had a good day running the ball, which included a PAT rush. Running Back Steven Bonugli earned the touchdown honors, scoring twice on the day, once by air and once on the ground. Just before the half, Hamel connected to Bonugli for a 55 yard TD catch and run. INTERMEDIATE DIVISION: Navajo 6 – Sioux 0 The Navajo edged past the first place Sioux in a 6-0 defensive battle. It was all about the defense in the first half with multiple tackles by Brandon Winn, Logan Singleton, Anthony Medeiros & Chris Lucas. The offense came close in the first half with a 35 yard run by Nick Resendiz and 60 yard run by Brandon Winn, but couldn't get through the tough Sioux defense to score. SENIOR DIVISION Giants 27 – Raiders 14 The Giants got their first victory on Sunday against a tough Raiders team. After a great defensive stand in the first quarter, the Giants went on to take the lead 7-0 with a 40 yd touchdown run by Brett Morris. Adding the extra point was David Lindsey off a wide open pass. The Raiders were quick to come back however with a good offensive drive tying the game at 7-7. The second quarter added to the Giants score with a 25 yard run from Scott Patterson and a 53 yard touchdown run from Morris. With the score 13-7 at the half, the Giants came out big again …
JUNIOR DIVISION Wamesit 26 – Comanche 6 The Wamesit bounced back in a big way with a very impressive 26-6 victory over the Comanche. Kyle Darrigo has become quite the TD machine as he rushed for 4 more TDs on the day from 8, 1, 1 and 8 yards. Cam Paolillo added 2 conversions with tough running. Both runners were helped by strong blocking by Gavin Thomasset, Santino Garofalo and Jack Meuse-Sitar. On defense, Dominic Iannacci came up with a fumble recovery to set up a scoring drive.
