Tewksbury (Warriors) vs. Revere The 8th grade ‘A’ Wamesit Warriors from Tewksbury lost a high-scoring contest to Revere, by a final of 81-63. Turnovers on offense were the difference. Despite picking up a fourth foul to start the second half, limiting his minutes, Justin Derrah scored 32 points, to go along with double-figure rebounds. Tewksbury (Warriors) vs. Saugus  The 8th grade ‘A’ Wamesit Warriors from Tewksbury were not able to overcome a 32-16 foul discrepancy, having three players foul out, and a fourth player almost experiencing the same fate, in a close 55-48 loss to the Sachems from Saugus. Nick Dunlap scored 13 points, Ryan Briggs 15, and Justin Derrah a team-leading 16, with all three players knocking down 3-point bombs. Warriors 8th Grade A 49, Leominster 47The 8th grade ‘A’ Wamesit Warriors from Tewksbury beat Leominster in an exciting and close contest, by a score of 49-47, ending with Justin Derrah taking the ball the length of the court on an inbounds pass and converting a shot with 3 seconds remaining to break the tie. The 6th Grade Wamesit Warriors have started their 2011-12 campaign with an eye on getting back to the Championship. After five games it is clear that there is a lot of work to do.  The Warriors are 3-2 and have had some fun games. In their opening victory (43-26) Tyler Wilson paced the team with 12 points, while Kyle Harkins had 8, Patrick Carleton 6 & Blake Hiltz had 5. The 8th grade ‘A’ Wamesit Warriors from Tewksbury won their second consecutive game, with a convincing 52-23 victory over Hamilton-Wenham. The 8th grade ‘A’ Wamesit Warriors from Tewksbury split a pair of games over the weekend beating Danvers by a score of 55-20, and losing a hard-fought game to Saugus 56-44, after leading at the half. Warriors 60 Malden  49 Congratulations to the 8th grade Wamesit Warriors from Tewksbury after completing a perfect season, winning every game, and finishing with a Championship victory, beating a tough Malden team 60-49 in the Division 1 Eastern League playoffs. The Warriors final record was 23-0. The mark of this great group of young men was defense and rebounding, and the Championship game was no different. In the final game of the season, the Warriors played hard and fast and never gave Peabody a chance to even get into this game.  The Warriors had 10 steals in the first half and held Peabody to just 18 points.  Kevin Vonkahle (7) and Connor MacLean (4) were very …
Last Tuesday night the Warriors 5th grade squad began the playoffs as the 5th seed playing 4th seeded Masconomet. With six guys scoring points and aggressive defense this team was clearly ready for a playoff run.  Kyle Harkins paced the team with 10 points.  Braden Hiltz had 8, Ben McKay scored five, Blake Hiltz had four and Tyler Wilson and Patrick Carleton each had a bucket.   This was a game won with defense as they held the Masco squad to 24 points for a 31-24 victory.  On Friday night while the TMHS Hockey team was beating Saugus the Warriors traveled to Saugus to challenge the #1 seed. …

Warriors 61 Peabody  36 The 8th grade Wamesit Warriors from Tewksbury continued their regular season dominance and moved to 21-0, after defeating Peabody 61-36 in the second round of the playoffs. The 5th Grade Warriors closed out the regular season on Sunday with a 47-31 victory over Winthrop. Braden Hiltz was a scoring machine and led the team with 19 points and Kyle Harkins helped lead the scoring with 15 points of his own. Cam O'Hearn, Patrick Carleton and Blake Hiltz scored four each and Tyler Wilson pitched in a bucket.   This game was won in the first has as the Warriors held Winthrop to 10 first half points and had a comfortable 25-10 lead. Warriors 7th   53      Peabody     58 It was a tough loss for the Warriors 7th grade team this weekend in what was a solid game by both teams.  Peabody came out fast and took an early 7-0 lead as the Warriors could not get a shot to drop.  The Warriors needed a spark and Ryan Briggs answered the call scoring 15 points in the first half, jump starting his team to take a 9-point halftime lead 27-18.  Dunlap, Asselin and Derrah combined 6-8 from the free throw line to help with the lead. Warriors 63 Malden  52  The 8th grade Wamesit Warriors from Tewksbury are undefeated at 20-0, after winning a battle of the two top teams in the league, beating Malden in a slugfest, 63-52.
