More About Tewksbury Hospital
Tewksbury Hospital, located just off East Street, offers care to adult patients suffering from chronic medical conditions as well as a variety of mental illnesses. The hospital has inpatient substance abuse programs for men and women as well as a detox program. It also offers a comprehensive treatment program for patients in the middle and latter stages of Huntington's disease. The hospital, established in 1854, has a storied history. One of its most famous patients was Annie Sullivan, who went on to become the teacher and mentor of Helen Keller. The hospital campus features many buildings, several of which are leased to partnering health care providers.
