Vispoli Criticizes Adams for Ducking Debate
Today Alex Vispoli, Republican candidate for the State Senate in the Second Essex and Middlesex district, criticized Paul Adams for ducking the proposed Lowell Sun debate.
Time Issues Phony Excuse
Andover, MA—Today Alex Vispoli, Republican candidate for the State Senate in the Second Essex and Middlesex district, criticized Paul Adams for ducking the proposed Lowell Sun debate. Adams is claiming time issues despite the legislature currently on recess for 4 ½ months.
“That’s just not a plausible excuse. I’m not on recess like he is. I have a private sector job along with a busy campaign schedule also with Andover Selectman duties, as well as, those of a father and a husband, yet I can fit it into my schedule. This is a bogus claim by my opponent,” said Vispoli.

Vispoli emerged the winner of the last two debates. During the first debate, Adams tried to claim he was not fined by the Office of Campaign and Political Finance which was a lie. At the second debate, Adams claimed to have private sector experience, but refused divulge how and where. He finally professed his private sector experience was working for a public policy group.
“Clearly he wants to limit the discussion because he cannot answer questions about his record,” said Vispoli. “It is easier for him to hide behind flyers than have open discussions.”

“There are many serious issues facing our state. Voters deserve to hear from the candidates,” added Vispoli. “If my opponent cannot debate in the Republican primary, then he will probably duck debates with the Democrat incumbent. That would guarantee that our party would lose. We need to nominate the person who is willing to stand up for what he believes in and stand behind his record. I am the candidate who is up to the task.”
