Active Heroes - Carry the Fallen Ruck March

My name is Andrea Piscopo, I am a Tewksbury native and resident.  I am currently involved with an important fundraiser for our Veterans. 

I have been an adventure athlete since 2011, starting off with mud runs, obstacle course racing, the GORUCK Challenge, and have made my way to include fundraising for the Team RWB, Homes for our Troops, Active Heroes and other foundations. 

On November 10th, beginning at 0600 a team of us (Team Minutemen) will be participating in a fundraiser called ‘Carry the Fallen’ on behalf of Active Heroes.  Teams have been organized throughout the United States, in various cities, on this day to ‘Carry the Fallen’.  Our team has decided that our rally point will be the starting line of the Boston Marathon and we will continue on for the 12 hours. We have also made it our goal to not only complete the full Boston Marathon Route, but to ruck beyond it.  

Our team is aiming to raise as much awareness and money for Veterans and their families dealing with PTSD and the epidemic of Veteran suicide.  Twenty-two Veterans commit suicide every day, we need to get this number down to zero.  Donations will go to Active Heroes, a 501(C)(3) charity helping with these military families. Active Heroes’ mission is to strengthen active duty military, veterans and their families in order to provide the coping skills to manage the stress and the triggering points that lead to suicide.

We are currently trying to get the word out for our 'Boston' Team (Team Minutemen), we are looking for volunteers to ruck with us, donate and or spread the word any way possible. Corporate and Business sponsors are more than welcome! This will be a 12 hour ruck march and each of us will be carrying 45+ lbs on our backs.   This will be a very long team endurance event.  We start as a team and finish as a team.  ONE TEAM...ONE FIGHT
