Austin Preparatory School’s Academic Decathlon team finished 5th overall at the state competition recently.
The Reading school was the highest-scoring private/Catholic school, and second-highest of the small schools.
In individual results, junior John Taveras of Tewksbury won a bronze medal in Music. What makes that especially impressive is that John was a late addition to the squad.
