Bayberry at Emerald Court raises dough for Food Pantry

The residents at Bayberry at Emerald Court, an assisted living community in Tewksbury, recently presented the Tewksbury Food Pantry with checks totaling more than $300.  They raised the funds through a bake sale and homemade craft sale during National Assisted Living Week in September.  Residents, staff and families baked and sold homemade fudge (the most popular) and a host of other sweet treats.  97 year-old resident Arthur Masse sold hand-crafted birdhouses, which he had been building for months leading up to the sale.  As most of these seniors lived through the Great Depression, or at least felt the trickle-down effect of that time, it is especially important to them to know they are still capable of helping their local community.
