Common Core and the schools

Audrey Kelly asked if the teachers were supporting Common Core in Tewksbury.

I prefer not to speak for others at least until the forum is over. I will say they like others are showing a great deal of concern over Common Core.

Let's not forget that it's setting rigorous academic goals that got Mass. students to the top of the world rankings. Knee-jerk scare tactics about a "takeover of our schools" are just that, scare tactics by people with an agenda that does not include a populace equipped to think critically. Or maybe the complaint is that the standards are too high? Hogwash.

Three Cheers for that Lorna. Afterall both sides of the Presidential Campaigns shouted out to Massachusetts STUDENTS for their high standard academic performance. And our standards can never be too high! Afterall, we compete with countries that take education of its youth to the only standard they have The highest. And A+ is the only result they get. WE in this great State must never look back on lower standards testing. We must support OUR TEACHERS,always. Together those two things will bring our children ,here in America, to live happily everafter.
