Donate Reusable Building Materials Saturday

Tewksbury residents can help reduce needless waste by donating rather than discarding unneeded, but good-quality, home improvement materials. Boston Building Resources will be collecting donations for its nonprofit reuse center at Tewksbury Zero Waste Day, set for Saturday, September 21, at the Wynn Middle School parking lot, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Items such as vanities, unused ceramic tile, light fixtures, appliances less than five years old, flooring, and other materials that are used for home improvement can be donated. These items will then be made available to low- and moderate-income homeowners at affordable prices, making it possible for them to repair and maintain their homes even on tight budgets. Guidelines about what Boston Building Resources can and cannot accept as donations are available by visiting www.bostonbuildingresources.com/index.php/donate/building_materials/what_we_do_dont_take
For larger items that can’t be brought to Zero Waste Day, such as a kitchen cabinet set, Boston Building Resources can arrange for a pickup. You can make a donation offer online to begin the process. There is a $25 fee to cover the cost of the pickup service.
The Reuse Center at Boston Building Resources is a nonprofit charitable organization. More information is available by calling 617-442-2262, ext. 2, or visiting www.bostonbuildingresources.com.
