Inside The World Of Postcard Collecting At Tewksbury Library

This Tuesday, February 11 at 7pm, the Tewksbury Public Library will host an illustrated lecture from Kathy Albert of the Bay State Postcard Collectors Club as part of its ongoing "Explore A Hobby" Tuesday Night Talk series.

Did you know that postcards are the third most popular collectible today, right behind coins and stamps?  Aside from reasonable prices,  postcards are collected for a number of reasons.  As a rich primary source of information relating to history and genealogy, authors and researchers flock to postcard shows looking for cards from a particular era, location, or related to a specific topic.  Others collect because they admire a card's aesthetics or because it is rare (the thrill of the chase). Still others are interested in real photo postcards (RPPCs) or specific postcard artists.  And that is just the beginning!

All library events are FREE and generously sponsored by the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library.  To reserve your seat, please contact librarian Robert Hayes at 978-640-4490 x 205 or rhayes@mvlc.org.
