Tewksbury Resident to perform in Bishop Fenwick High School's production of "Little Women"

Tewksbury Resident Lauren Page will be featured as Mrs. March in Bishop Fenwick's upcoming production of Little Women.

Lovers of Louisa May Alcott’s classic novel Little Women will be given a new opportunity to enjoy the epic story of the March sisters with Bishop Fenwick High School’s Fall production.  The family friendly show chronicles the lives of the March sisters and their mother as enchantingly told in Louisa May Alcott’s semi-autobiography about her family during the American Civil War.

Alcott’s coming-of-age story follows the adventures of Jo, Meg, Beth, and Amy as they grow up in Civil War America.  Jo longs to publish a novel.  Meg longs for a fiancé.  Beth longs for a piano.  Amy longs to be admired.  The show, like the novel, tells a tale of the power of family, friendship and love.

Little Women is being produced by Laurel Weatherby, a faculty member of the Fine Arts Department at Bishop Fenwick.  This is Weatherby’s first production at Fenwick.  "I am thrilled to be working with the cast and crew of Little Women.  It's a pleasure to watch the characters come to life on stage each day. The students are so talented!  I want to be a tomboy with Jo, talk about clothes with Meg, sing along with Beth, and paint with Amy.  I have no doubt that our audience will feel the same!"

Also in his first role at Fenwick is Director Bob Gautreau who will be working with Weatherby again later in the school year to direct Fenwick’s musical production of “Grease.”  Gautreau, who received a Theater Education Degree from Emerson, is impressed with the students of Bishop Fenwick.  “You would never know that they are high school students on stage.” said Gautreau. “Their professionalism is impressive and I have really enjoying working with this group.”

The production will run in Bishop Fenwick’s Auditorium December 13 at 7pm, December 14 at 7pm and December 15 at 2pm.  Tickets may be purchased online or at the door and are $10 for adults, $8 for students and senior citizens.  For more information or to purchase tickets online, please visit www.fenwick.org/arts.
