Atamian VW Honda Marlins evened their record at 1-1 with a 15-8 victory at JR field on Sunday. Cassidy Pereira pitched a gem, striking out 12 batters. Felicia and Christina DiIulio combined for 4 hits and Ashlyn Bisso had a HR and 4 hits. The team played excellent.
The Atamian VW Honda Marlins played the Demos Woodworking Angels at Conlon Field on Friday night. Although they lost the game 13 - 4 there were several fine performances. Ashlyn Bisso pitched 3 innings, followed up by Olivia Paulding, who also made a great defensive play at 3rd. Asha Speller got a big hit and Alexa Harrington played great defense behind the plate.
The Atamian VW Honda Marlins played the U-Save Auto Sales Rays on Tuesday night at Alumni field, losing 11-2. Olivia Paulding pitched 5 strong innings, striking out 13 batters while Rachel Scaringi chipped in with a key hit and an RBI. Asha Speller also added a triple and Alexa Harrington had a long sacrifice fly. It was a tough loss but the team showed some good fundamentals on several plays.
The Atamian VW Honda Marlins played the Demos Woodworking Angels at Hazel Field on Wednesday night, losing 10-7. It was a back and forth game, with the Marlins jumping ahead to an early 5-0 lead. Meghan Ostertag had a 2 run single in the first, with Felicia DiIulio and Alexa Harrington adding key 2 out hits later in the game. Bella Mirisola also added an important hit, but the rally fell just short.
The Atamian VW Honda Marlins lost 6-5 to the Homans Associates Diamondbacks in a very exciting and well played game at Hazel Field. After staking the Diamondbacks to an early 4-0 lead, the Marlins tied the score with the help of multi-hit games from Alexa Harrington, Olivia Paulding, and Ashlyn Bisso. The Diamondbacks took the lead for good with 2 runs in the 6th, but the Marlins held tough with good defensive plays by Bella Mirisola and Alexa. Olivia and Alexa shared the pitching duties.
Junior 10U League
The Aubuchon Hardware Cubs started their season on a high note with a tough fought 16-10 victory over the Edelstein Indians. Paige Ouellette led the way with 3 strong innings of pitching, striking out 8 along the way. Patsy Carey and Jessica Hickey had a hit each and scored 3 runs between them as the Cubs offensive stars of the game.
The Aubuchon Hardware Cubs made it 2 in a row with a win over the Commercial Courier, Inc. Braves, 15-5. Paige Krzesinski struck out 8 batters in her 3 innings of work. Krysta McCallion also threw a perfect inning, striking out all 3 batters she faced. Krysta also chipped in at the plate with a 2 hits and 2 runs scored. Jocelyn Kinnon also reached base twice and scoring 2 runs as well.
