Delivery Expected This Weekend to Sutton Brook Superfund Site

EPA says advanced notifications will be made if at all possible for any future possible weekend deliveries.

Updated information from the EPA says due to a schedule/planning issue there will be a delivery to the Sutton Brook Disposal Area Superfund Site this weekend. A total of three trucks are expected.

In a release issued Wednesday, EPA officials say they have sent out the amended update despite the small number of deliveries because the last update stated there would not be any weekend deliveries.

Deliveries are being made this weekend to provide clay material for the slurry wall contractor (the “specialty sub-contractor”) who would need to stop work without it, the release states. The material is coming from Wyoming, so there is a significant lead time.

EPA officials want residents to know the practice of a weekend delivery could possibly happen again, though it is not anticipated or planned. However, if it does occur, it would only be for a similar unique situation, involving a very limited number of vehicles.  In addition, advance notification will be provided if at all possible.
