East Street Closed Wednesday For Paving Work
Find out what detour to take during East Street paving.
The following information is provided by Tewksbury Town Engineer Michele Stein:
Weather permitting, East Street will be closed to through traffic due to paving on Wednesday, Aug. 28 between the railroad tracks and 1076 East Street from 7 a.m. to approximately 5:30 p.m, according to Town Engineer Michele Stein.
A detour will be in place from East Street to Shawsheen Street to Ballard Street to Maple Street and back to East Street.
While East Street will be open to business and local traffic, the Department of Public Works is asking residents who live within the limits of the roadwork to plan ahead and move their vehicles in advance if possible.
Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times, according to Stein.
If inclement weather postpones paving work, work will be scheduled for the next suitable day, according to Stein.
