Flash Flood Watch in Effect Through Thursday Evening

Thunderstorms in the area could produce heavy rain Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.


The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Tewksbury that will remain in place until Thursday evening.

Showers and thunderstorms will result in pockets of heavy rainfall and the potential for localized flash flooding on Thursday. 

The thunderstorms will be capable of producing torrential downpour and flash flooding. 

According to the National Weather Service, residents should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flooding occur. 

Here in Tewksbury, there is a 40 percent chance of rain on Thursday, with some of the storms producing heavy rain

The flash flood watch will be in effect until 6 p.m. on Thursday.
