Flood Watch In Effect Through Monday Night

Some of the storms could produce small hail, according to the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood alert for portions of Connecticut as well as Worcester, Essex and Middlesex Counties in Massachusetts, including Tewksbury.

They forecast heavy showers and thunderstorms on Monday evening that could bring one to two inches of rain per hour overnight, leading to potential flooding near rivers and poor drainage areas.

Some of the storms could also produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain.

The flood watch is currently set to expire early on Tuesday morning.
