A pair of Monday night storms rolled through Tewksbury and other Middlesex County towns on Monday night, and as a result multiple areas of town were left without power for several hours.

As of 10 p.m., National Grid reported that a large area near Interstate 495 and Andover Street, some of which is in Andover and Lowell, remained in the dark.

That power outage began at 8:58 p.m., according to the National Grid outage map, and impacted 2,248 customers.

Power was anticipated to be returned to residents by about 11:15 p.m.

In addition, a smaller outage took place on Kendall Road, though as of 10 p.m., less than five customers were without power.

Multiple Tewksbury Patch readers who live on Kendall Road said they lost power around 5 p.m., which was when a powerful storm crashed through the area, brining heavy rains, thunder and lightning.

However, those same readers added that at around 10 p.m., their power was restored.
