STORM CENTER: Trash Collection Delayed, Town Offices and Library Closed

The Tewksbury Rail Trails Facebook page encourages residents to get outdoors and snowshoe, walk or build a snowman. Residents can upload their photos to the group's Facebook page and the winning picture will be the page's cover photo for the week.

Updated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.: 
A variety of town services have been canceled due to the snow.

Tewksbury Public Library and Tewksbury town offices are closed for the day.

In addition, trash and red recycling will be picked up on Thursday this week, according to the town's official website.

Snow is expected to roll into the region early Wednesday morning, and Tewksbury will likely see a significant total by day's end.

Current Forecasts

All indications are that Tewksbury and the surrounding area is likely to get a minimum of six inches of snow.

That total, according to several forecasts, could climb up to as much as 10 inches in town. The snow isn't expected to be the light, fluffy stuff. Meteorologists are expecting this to be a heavier snow.

School Closed

There was no need for students to get up early on Wednesday to check if they had to bundle up and head to school.

That's because Tewksbury Public Schools made the decision on Tuesday night to cancel school on Wednesday due to the snow.
