T.H.E. FARM is pleased to announce the appointment of Sharon Hanson to its newly created position of Program Director.  Sharon will be responsible for supporting, enhancing and developing new and existing programs, as T.H.E.FARM prepares for further growth and expansion over the coming years.

Sharon, a Topsfield resident, brings to T.H.E. FARM a wide range of professional and horsemanship experience.  She is a Massachusetts licensed instructor and dressage specialist and a PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship) Certified Instructor.  She is a Member of the Board of Directors for the New England Dressage Association and has worked closely with United States Dressage Federation Lexington Kentucky regarding strategic relationships, planning and growth.  As a horse owner herself, she has been riding for more than 40 years, has been a dressage rider for most of her life and has participated in the Myopia Hunt Club shows and events for many years.

Sharon noted enthusiastically that “T.H.E. FARM has an excellent equine-assisted therapeutic program”…and that “the equestrian center is a first-rate Premier Accredited Center.  I look forward to meeting and working closely with everyone associated with T.H.E. FARM, including instructors, parents and volunteers, and most especially, our participants,”

According to Susan Lorenti, President of T.H.E. FARM, “Sharon is ideally suited for this position, and we are excited to have her. By working with our staff, instructors and parents, Sharon will maintain our existing programs as well as create new ones that will benefit all of our participants.”   Sharon will also be involved with T.H.E.FARM’s major fundraising events, including the upcoming Annual Fall Auction, which will be held on November 9, 2012 at the Tewksbury Country Club.
