Tewksbury Police Christmas Parade Delights Children All Over Town

Busload of costumed characters joins Santa on a tour of local Christmas parties.

Santa Claus didn't have his reindeer as he made his way around Tewksbury on Sunday but he wasn't alone.

Santa and a busload of costumed characters made the rounds of several children's holiday parties as part of the annual Christmas Parade sponsored by the Tewksbury Police Department.

Characters included Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Dora the Explorer, Bob the Builder, SpongeBob and Elmo.

Stops included parties at the Tewksbury/Wilmington Elks Club, VFW and Central Fire Station, among others. There was also an unscheduled stop at the Oakdale Mall, where the characters interacted with surprised shoppers.

The event was organized by Deputy Police Chief John Voto, with help from a team of volunteers, including other officers, officers' family members and town officials.
