Tewksbury September 11 Memorial Service Set For Wednesday Evening

Tewksbury will hold a September 11 memorial service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Tewksbury will be hosting a Candlelight Vigil Wednesday night, to mark the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

The vigil will take place at the Tewksbury September 11 Memorial , located next to the Tewksbury Public Library at the corner of Chandler and Main Streets.

Tewksbury residents Peter Gay and Peter Hashem were among the 93 Massachusetts residents killed in the attacks. Plaques remembering the two local men are featured in the 9/11 Memorial, while the names of all 93 Massachusetts victims are etched in bricks on the walkway of the monument.
