Tewksbury will be hosting a Candlelight Vigil Wednesday night, to mark the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
The vigil will take place at the Tewksbury September 11 Memorial , located next to the Tewksbury Public Library at the corner of Chandler and Main Streets.
Tewksbury residents Peter Gay and Peter Hashem were among the 93 Massachusetts residents killed in the attacks. Plaques remembering the two local men are featured in the 9/11 Memorial, while the names of all 93 Massachusetts victims are etched in bricks on the walkway of the monument.
The vigil will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature a speech by Larissa Gay, daughter of Peter Gay.
Local Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts will lead the Pledge of Allegiance and music will be provided by the Tewksbury High Band, singer Michael Lally and the Tewksbury Interfaith Choir.
The Tewksbury Police Department and Fire Department Honor Guards will be participating in the event as well.
