U.S. and MA Flags to Fly at Half-Staff Through Friday

Governor's order applies to all state facilities and town halls.

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick has ordered all state and U.S. flags on state buildings and facilities to fly at half-staff through sunset Friday, "as a mark of respect for the victims of the violence perpetrated at the Washington Navy Yard on September 16, 2013."

President Obama has made a similar proclamation.

The governor's order applies to all state run buildings, state military installations and the seats of local government, including town halls.
