Wolcott Street Overlay Work Set For Wednesday

If you're planning travel on or around Wolcott Street in Tewksbury on Wednesday, you may want to allot yourself some extra time.

The following information is provided by Town Engineer Michele Stein:

Wolcott Street is being overlaid Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. (weather permitting).

We apologize for the short notice and any inconvenience this might cause.  The Town needs to keep traffic off the road until the asphalt has reached an appropriate temperature.

The limits of this overlay will be from Ruby’s Way to Georgia Road.  Local traffic and businesses will be able to get through with alternating traffic, however, expect delays.

Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times. There will still be trash pick-up operations. The Town has made arrangements for an afternoon pick-up.

If inclement weather postpones paving work, work will be scheduled for the next suitable day.  The Department of Public Works is asking all local traffic to please give yourself ample time when leaving for work and or your daily activities and also to plan ahead and to move your vehicle ahead of time if possible.

Please do not hesitate to contact Michele Stein, Town Engineer, at 978-640-4370 ext. 239 or Joseph Giuliano, Project Manager, at ext. 252 with any questions or concerns you may have throughout this process.
