Are You Disappointed Airport Diner Closed Permanently?

The Airport Diner closed its doors for good at the beginning of the month, citing an "unexpected turn of events."

Tewksbury residents looking for a place to grab breakfast lost out on one option at the beginning of this month when the Airport Diner closed its doors for good.

On June 1, the business posted to its Facebook page that it would be permanently closed, though the exact reason remains unclear. An attempt by Tewksbury Patch to reach the business for further explanation was unsuccessful.

"After careful consideration, we have decided to close The Airport Diner permanently," Airport Diner posted on Facebook, signing it from Chris and Ann. "This decision did not come lightly, but due to an unexpected turn of events, this was the right decision for us. We will miss the many people we have met over the years. Thank you so much for the years of letting us serve you."

In a separate post last week, the business posted "For those that miss his cooking, Carlos is now at the Dream Diner in Tyngsboro."

Several customers have commented on the posts, expressing their disappointment that their favorite breakfast spot is no longer in business.

What is your reaction? Have you missed Airport Diner since it closed? Would you like to see another similar diner open to take its place? Let us know in the comments section below.

This place has not been around that long. It used to be a fast seafood place. I went in with my family when it first opened. Wasn't busy but the breakfast still took way too long and it was cold when it arrived. The kids could no longer wait they had to bring something out quick for them and we had to wait for the rest. Needless to say we never went back. Deli King all the way!

I thought the place was great and brought my family every weekend. It was a location that allowed young kids to work a 1st job and everyone was very friendly. Very sad to see it go.

The service was not efficient enough for a "quick" breakfast or lunch. Don't know if it was the wait staff or the cook. Food was acceptable for this type of establishment. I don't think they had enough customers to survive.

Ed, I had the same experience that you had with terrible service when the Airport Diner first opened. I also had that same experience with Ryan's Pub. I have found out with a little experience that visiting a restaurant when it first opens up is not always the same as when they have been opened up for awhile and get their feet wet. Airport Diner was very good after it had been opened for some time, and now I feel the same about Ryan's. I think if you had given them a second chance you might have changed your opinion. I guess it is too late for Airport Diner now.
