Mahoney's To Host Ladies Night Out

Annual shopping event is scheduled to Nov. 10.

(Editor's note: The following information was submitted by Mahoney's Garden Center.)

will kick-off the holiday season with their Annual “Ladies Night Out” Christmas Shoppe Open House on Thursday, November 10 from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at their Tewksbury location. At this free event, guests will be the first to shop Mahoney’s Christmas decorations, enjoy wine and food sampling, and discover products and services from a wide variety of local merchants and artisans.

The event began in 2006 as an open house to their Christmas Shoppe in Winchester, MA. It was the following year, when Mahoney’s invited local merchants to participate, that the event became a social event that many women look forward to annually. Last year over 3,000 women attended the Winchester Ladies Night Out.

The event is so popular that Mahoney’s now hosts Ladies Night Out in three locations. In addition to Tewksbury, their Winchester location will host the event on Wednesday, November, 16 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and their Falmouth location on Thursday, November 17 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The event really is a fun night out for everyone,” remarks Kristin Broadley, co-owner of the Centerville Pie Company. Thrust into the spotlight after landing on Oprah’s Ultimate Favorite Things 2010 for their chicken pie, Broadley will be sampling and selling their pies at all three Mahoney’s Ladies Night Out events, adding “the atmosphere and people just can’t be beat. Where else can you shop to music while sipping wine and tasting amazing treats?”

The event has helped support the local economy, too. “Being local is so important these days,” says Pamela Vasques, event manager at Mahoney’s. “We’ve tried to reach a vast array of merchants and artisans both for the ladies shopping enjoyment, but also to the benefit local merchants and artisans.”

“There are so many different vendors at the event that the shoppers could probably find an accessory to every scarf that I sell,” says Terry Pino, owner of A Perfect Scarf. “Although I’m there primarily to sell my scarfs, I always end up shopping for the holidays because there’s so much!” Pino will be selling her scarfs at all three Ladies Night Out event locations.

Local merchants planned for the event include, but are not limited to, Moonlight Rose Alpacas, Soluna Garden Farms, Glitz Kids, Concord Hand Design, Emmett's Edibles, Gremlin Glass, Green Eyed Daisy, Doves and Figs, Fashion Jewels, Sparkles, Simple Pleasures, Friends of Mel, Miche Bags, J&B Butcher, Capellini's, Coastal Winery, A Perfect Scarf, Centerville Pie Co., Cannistraci Bakery, Muffin Cart, Silpada, Elements Massage and much more.

The event still marks the official start of decorating for the holidays, and Mahoney’s takes great pride in transforming their garden shop into a festive Christmas Shoppe filled with ornaments from around the world, exquisite figurines, lifelike pre-lit wreaths, painted poinsettias, and other hard-to-find decorations.

At the event, Mahoney’s will also promote their annual Trees for Troops campaign, where shoppers can spread some holiday cheer by donating a tree to a military family.

Mahoney’s Garden Centers is located at 1609 Main Street in Tewksbury. For more information visit www.mahoneysgarden.com or call (978) 851-2712.
