Benefit Breakfast And Harvest Fair Sunday At Senior Center

Senior Center activities are cancelled on Nov. 6 for the election.

The Seniors shall hold a Breakfast Benefit and Harvest Fair this Sunday, Nov. 4. Breakfast will be served as usual from 7:30 to 11:00 AM. The Fair will be held from 7:30 AM and extend to 12:30 PM. Admission is free for the Fair. Prices for Breakfast will remain the same: Adults $6; Children 12 and under $3; and, toddlers free. The breakfast menu is: Pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, homefries, beans, toast and beverages. The Fair will be a downsized version but will feature some great crafts and gift items, a bake table and a white elephant table. The public is welcomed.

Elks Thanksgiving ticket distributions had a slow start this week due to “ storm Sandy”. We are confident that tickets will still be available by the time you read this news. The event is being held on Thursday, November 15th, for Tewksbury Senior Citizens. Tickets are free and bus transportation will be provided by the COA to those who are in need of a ride. Those utilizing the bus are asked to indicate this fact when picking up a ticket.

The Methuen Annual “Festival of Trees” will be here before we know it. On Saturday and Sunday, November 17th and 18th the Festival admission fee is free for Senior Citizens and Red Hatters. The event will take place from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM both days and is located at 13 Branch Street,Methuen 01844. This year the Senior Center gift shop and consignment shop will have a tree on display. This is a great take that you won't want to miss.

Due to the storm, the DJ Jon afternoon dance was canceled this past Monday. The tickets for this Monday's dance will be valid for the next dance scheduled for Monday, November 26th. Those who cannot make the November dance will be refunded.

Those people traveling to the Mohegan Sun on Monday, November 5th, are reminded that the bus shall depart from the Senior Center at 7:00 AM sharp.

This coming Monday, November 5th, is also the is also the date for the Upscale “Intake of Items” Day. Items for the Upscale shop will be accepted during the hours of 3:00 to 7:00 PM. This is a great time to do a bit of shopping, too.

Then on Tuesday, November 6th the Presidential Election will be held. Please note that all programs and activities at the Senior Center will not be held on election day. The Center will be open for the Election only.

Due to several requests for a Country Western Dance, a dance has been scheduled for Friday, November 30th with the John Penny Band performing for the evening. Tickets are now available at $10 per person.

Tickets are now available for the COA and Friends Christmas Dinner of Friday, December 7th. The ticket cost is $15 and includes a family style dinner and dancing to the sounds of the Perfect Match Band.

Then on Sunday, December 9th, the Edwards Twins will be back in Tewksbury at the Senior Center to perform their Christmas Show. A matinee will be held at 1:00 PM and an evening show at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $30 per person and going fast. These shows are open to the general public and will be most entertaining. The Edwards Twins impersonate celebrities and are very good at doing so. It's a great show.

New Years Eve tickets are now available. Tickets are $50 per person and include a buffet dinner with the main course being prime rib, turkey and haddock. Entertainment will be provided by the Perfect Match Band. Why not ring in the New Year with friends.

A reminder, although after the fact, that when the Tewksbury Schools have canceled due to inclement weather, the activities at the Senior Center are canceled. The Center is open but activities are not held to insure the safety of our elderly.
