Local Heroes Celebrates Another Milestone Day

Veterans Day is still a few days away. But on Wednesday, one group of Wilmington residents found a way to thank troops for their service, just as they do every week at the same time.

Local Heroes, which celebrated its eighth anniversary on November 3, packed its 16,000thpackage on Wednesday night during their weekly trip to Knights of Columbus to pack boxes for troops serving overseas.

“Humbling,” said Local Heroes founder Lou Cimaglia. “It’s been an amazing show of support. It’s been an amazing show of support. For the residents of Wilmington and us to do what we do every week for eight years, and to hit 16,000 all in one week, it’s a great experience.”

The 2012 Chelmsford Area Bear Map

Earlier this year, a family of bears were sighted in Westford, and since then Patch has been getting updates on their locations from members of the community.

In the past day or two, we've learned that the bears might be here in Chelmsford, so we've decided to bring the map across the border to include bear sightings from here in town and all points in the West of Lowell suburbs.

We'll update the map above every week or so with information provided by you here in the comments section.

Too Overwhelmed to Move? Try these Tips

The simple word moving can strike fear in the hearts of the strongest of men and the most organized of women. Just the simple thought of taking several years of collected memories and packing them into a box is enough to send your heart aflutter. Fear not, there are ways to make the process easier, and in the end, you will be thrilled to have a brand new, perhaps, smaller home.

Most of us, when we entertain the thought of moving, immediately look around our home in awe of all of the stuff we have acquired. We think about reducing our stuff by throwing things away, donating things or having a yard sale. None of us really stop to realize that the first place we should begin is with the end in mind.
