WHS Abutter's Attorney: 'That's Why We Have Superior Court'

The battle over the new Wilmington High School appears to be far from over.

Department of Environmental Protection Hearings Officer Tim Jones released the report on his decision to dismiss two appeals of the school on Friday, but the attorney for abutter Gerry O’Reilly indicated that his client will likely be willing to continue his appeal to the next level.

“That’s why we have Superior Court,” said attorney Jeffrey S. Baker, when read a paragraph summarizing the report that claims the petitioners failed to raise factual issues in their appeal. “I have nothing else to say other than that.”

Dirty Doodle Coming to Reading

Stoneham resident Kaitlyn Fusco is opening The Dirty Doodle, a new dog boutique and self-wash facility, at 143 Main St., Reading. Stop by for the "projected grand opening" the weekend of Saturday, Nov. 10. 

Instead of taking your dog to the groomer, you can bring your dog to the Dirty Doodle and use their equipment to wash and dry your pup. You can make an appointment if you want to secure a spot, but an appointment is not necessary. The cost for a wash is $16 and that includes use of their tubs, towels, hydraulic tables for blow-drying and a wide variety of shampoos and conditioners. The Dirty Doodle will also offer organic dog foods and treats, dietary supplements, designer collars and leashes, seat belts and other products your furry friends will love.

Liquor License Passed for Joe Fish in North Reading

Owners of Joe Fish in North Andover Jim Demetri and Jim Dietz went before the selectmen Monday night to have their liquor license approved for the new Joe Fish restaurant that will be located in the old Piccadilly Pub space in North Reading. The liquor license was approved unanimously.

Hannaford Alerts Customers About Problems with Cakes

Hannaford Supermarkets has issued an alert about a label printing error on its Red Velvet Cake Truffle and Triple Chocolate Cake Truffle, which was sold in the bakery department.

The cakes may have contained “undeclared allergens.” This means that people with allergies or “severe sensitivity” to egg, milk, peanuts, wheat, soy and tree nuts should not eat these cakes, according to an announcement by the FDA.
