Nine Things To Do This Weekend

Here are nine things to do with your family this weekend.

Why Go: Check out dozens of trees that have been decorated by local businesses and organizations. PLUS, you get to vote on which ones you like the best.

Why Go: Enjoy a slice of pie or a brownie a la mode the night of Tewksbury's Tree lighting.  The Pie Social is a community event hosted by the members of Tewksbury Congregational Church.  Doors are open before and after the Tree Lighting to serve you a piece of homemade pie or enjoy a brownie made from scratch and cocoa or coffee.

When/Where: Friday, Dec. 2, 7 p.m., Town Common, Tewksbury

Why Go: This year's event will follow a slightly different schedule, as the lights on the common will be lit at the start of the festivities, right at 7 p.m. The event will feature the Swinging Seniors Chorus, who will perform "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree," "Deck The Halls," "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer," "Here Comes Santa Claus" and "We Wish You a Merry Christmas." Library Director Diane Giarusso will also be on-hand to read "Twas The Night Before Christmas." But, of course, the guest of honor for the Lighting of the Common will be Santa Claus. Jolly Old St. Nick will arrive on a rather large red "sleigh" courtesy of the Tewksbury Fire Department.

Why Go: Kick off your holiday season with the St. William Christmas Fair. Get yourself into the Christmas spirit and take care of some of your shopping away from the hustle and bustle of the malls.

Why Go: Fair Highlights ~ More fresh greens than ever before (kissing balls, tabletop trees, and fresh wreaths custom decorated while you wait), silent auction, baked goods table, fudge, gift baskets, the Children's Fair (play games/win prizes), used books and DVDs, costume jewelry, wood crafted items, handmade items, scarves and handbags. There will also be a chance to paint your own ornaments, at 30 percent off, courtesy of Magic Brush Pottery.

Why Go: is a free-to-play event that provides Pokémon players the opportunity to compete in the Play! Pokémon Series and enjoy the skill, strategy and, fun with other Pokémon TCG players.

Why Go: Tewksbury has got some amazingly talented people, both young and old. Stop by, check out the acts, cheer them on and enjoy the show!

Why Go: This dance features live DJ, Nulmage.  Light hor d'oeuvres will be served and cash bar is available.

MIAA Division 2 Super Bowl -- Tewksbury vs. Duxbury

When/Where: Saturday, Dec. 3, 3:30 p.m., Gillette Stadium, Foxboro

Why Go: Oh yeah, with all of the other activities going on this weekend, there is the little matter of the Tewksbury Redmen playing for the Division 2 Super Bowl Championship. Tewksbury is just 7-5 on the year but they have taken down several of the top teams in the Merrimack Valley. But can they handle the defending Super Bowl Champions? The Dragons are unbeaten at 12-0 and boast a 26-game win streak.

Cost: $15 for adults, $12 for students and seniors.
