Coakley's Top Aide Launches Attorney General Bid

Maura Healey officially announces candidacy for office.

A top aide to Attorney General Martha Coakley has announced her intentions to run for the seat.

The Boston Herald reported Tuesday morning that Maura Healey resigned from her top deputy post last week to launch her campaign. The 42-year-old Democrat says she wants to carry on the office’s legacy.

Her former boss, Attorney General Martha Coakley, is running for governor of Massachusetts.
