Results Announced for Contested Town Moderator Race

The Town Clerk announced the results following a slow Election Day in Tewksbury.

On a slow Election Day in Tewksbury, residents at the polls selected a new Town Moderator while several other candidates will take office after winning uncontested races.

Jerry Selissen defeated Doug Sears in the race for Town Moderator by a tally of 885-640.

In addition to the race for Town Moderator, the following candidates ran successfully for uncontested positions:

  • Bruce Panilaitis -- Board of Selectmen
  • Brian Dick (Incumbent) -- School Committee
  • Patrick Joyce (Incumbent) -- Library Trustee
  • Robert Homeyer (Incumbent) -- Library Trustee
  • Louise A. Gearty (Incumbent) -- Housing Authority
  • Charles Roux (Incumbent) -- Board of Health
  • Vincent Fratalia -- Planning Board
A total of 1,571 votes were cast at the ballot boxes on Saturday, good for about 7.4 percent of the town's 21,098 registered voters.
