Have You Had Bad Dealings With Tewksbury's Section 8 Coordinater ?

Tewksbury Section 8 coordinator is nothing but a headache for most unfortunate low income families.

Does she try to run you out of town because she is a strong republican and does not believe any one deserves the help? She is in the wrong line of work and needs to be exposed. Can I get a response from any one who has had dealings with her?

Maybe she's sick of all the entitled deadbeats in section 8 Housing.

Kim I need a place I will call you
alaexandra September 26, 2012 at 12:22 AM
yeah I know her Susan is her name..she is all for the landlord. she is a very very angry woman. Too bad .there are some single moms out here that just cant do it all alone and she has no mercy.she would rather see a mother and her children on the street. I have a friend that her landlord has raise the rent so high and it is unheard of and lets him get away with some really bad living conditions, his rental is not fit for an animal to live in.actually animals do live in it ha no pun intended .maybe you should call her supervisor..although I dont think there is one down on livingston st , because if there was one he would have stepped up already..just go over head as high as you can till you get help..

If this woman does support landlords, good for her because the state won't. Tenants are allowed to remain on the premises even if they can't pay their rent on time. Often times rental apartments/homes are damaged to the tune of thousands of dollars and the landlord is never able to recoup their money. I'm tired of excuses why people can't support themselves. I can sympathize with a disabled veteran or people with other disabilities or special needs but I'm tired of supporting able bodied deadbeats who whine about being single parents or people who can't get jobs...if you look hard enough they're out there. Maybe not most but a significant percentage of people collecting welfare, using EBT cards, and living in section 8 housing are looking for handouts and have no intention of trying to earn a living and provide for themselves.

I have tried for 4 years to get section 8 in this town....She is BRUTAL! Im a single mom who works 2 jobs..no child support and no help at all.....have been forced to live with my parents with my two children in one room, so JOE BILL....what do you say to children who dont see their mother because she works day and night for the cost of simple things in life like heat water rent food gas.....the list goes on and on! How dare you its men like you that dont have a clue what its like to truely be on your on and soon to be homeless!!!! Its also the state that knows how much child support is owed to me ten thousand dollars and though i have been to court....he is still out there with NO JOB...not me! And its also all the people let into this country on green cards and work visas who step in the way to make us ACTUAL AMERICANS wait for help that i do as well as you pay taxes for!
Rabib October 10, 2012 at 10:52 PM
So, you want our taxpayer dollars to support an apartment for you? Whats wrong with living with your parents? If you want your own place, shouldn't you ask your parents/family for help before you go to the taxpayers?

The welfare system is expected to be a hand up, not a hand out. I have volunteered in a homeless shelter and could pick out the probably 15-20% who were there due to the economy and needing a hand up, and those who were continuing the cycle. The entire system needs to be reformed. both the landlords AND the tenants need surprise random inspections. EBT recipients should have to retain receipts and show them upon request for what was purchased. Kat, did you go to college? Are you aware of the school assistance available for yourself to get you better paying jobs? Perhaps staying with your parents where you have assistance with your two children is a better option so that you could attend classes. Even if you get an education here, perhaps after obtaining a degree, relocating to an area of the state that is less expensive to live in, would be a better goal than to waste more years hoping for your turn at Section 8. In this economy, the vouchers are not coming available anytime soon as there are a limited number available, and I'm guessing that will decrease after the election.

Kat, I think you should go over her head. Call H.U.D.. There is a number you can call where you can report her or any one that is unethical. They will take a full report on her as they should and you may just get the help that you need. She should be FIRED immediately!!!

joe, I work my tail OFF!!! I have 2 kids with a dead beat dad!!! go How can you be so uneducated on this subject. No matter how much I bring home or how hard I work I barely get by + my kids go with out. I know that woman down at housing Susan Hayes. Shes a B ! If she's so sick of her job then maybe she should find another, its my TAX money that pays HER!!!! She comes between tenants and landlords, because she is sneaky and conniving. And there AREN'T jobs out there that even pay enough for one parent to earn enough to pay the out rages rents in this town or any where.Have you seen food prices? You cant possibly be a father + husband, because if you were you would have some empathy for others knowing how hard it is to raise them .
Leanne October 11, 2012 at 03:16 AM
God Bless You Kat and I hope you find relief some where some how. No one should have to work their life away, especially a mom with young children, Joe Bill needs to be educated. maybe if he were in the kind of situation that you and I find our selves in he wouldnt be so smug. He's probably her cousin or something. "jerk" Good luck Kat!!

Mr. Gilman, does this piece really belong on the Patch?
Bill Gilman (Editor) October 11, 2012 at 12:41 PM
billvill .... this was a blog post, not an article. It is, by definition, an opinion piece. No different than a letter to the editor or an op/ed. And it is voicing complaint about an appointed public official ... no different than a town department head.

The problem is that People on Section 8 and the other welfare help are never taught to get out of the circle. I was a single mom and tried to get help, I was lucky to get the help when i needed it, but now I AM NOT, my husband and i work really hard for the things we have now. People get into the Rut, and cant get out...
billvill October 12, 2012 at 11:13 AM
Bill, I'm aware of that, but regardless of one's opinion of this topic (I happen to be a fiscal conservative), it leads to defamation of this individual's character. It's one thing to write an Op piece regarding the office, it's something else entirely to write a piece about the individual. That's really all I'm saying.
Leanne October 12, 2012 at 01:23 PM
Denise, Luckily for you , you have a man or husband to help you and your children, and he helps YOU keep a roof over your heads. HOWEVER....... Not all Fathers step up, there was a piece on FOX NEWS this morning how Women are over whelmed!! Single mothers need help. Spending trillions to bomb middle east? sending money every where in the world?? but the single mothers are the problem? I work real hard too!! but if there is some help for struggling women and at the same time ,there is a person standing in the way of that help who is in a position to help people. Then the question is??? Should we have a payed official who is unqualified for that position in that position?????????????
Leanne October 12, 2012 at 01:44 PM
people in public positions need to be up standing and decent ,respectful to others ...or this is what happens..they get found out and people come out of the woodwork to expose them :) some thing is definitely wrong here..
Leanne October 12, 2012 at 01:56 PM
Rehab, No one has the right to stand in Kat's way. It's there for mother's like her. ONE individual of Tewksbury should not have so much power. Some one should surprise her and check in her.keep her honest. Not attack citizens of this country or Kat and try to degrade her with your comment ., They bring in illegals and feed ,clothe ,give them free medical, college grants, and house them..While our single parents trying to raise a family right here at home need some help! Get A grip
alaexandra October 12, 2012 at 02:29 PM
REHAB.. NO of course not..We want you to spend your tax dollars on the illegal immigrants and deceitful housing reps. Also make sure the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer. Bail out the big banks while American's lose their homes/jobs. No matter if you rent or own this country is in trouble. This Section 8 Co coordinator/ should be audited. Maybe fired and then she will have to seek some support herself and see whats its like when the shoes on the other foot. Hopefully YOU will never be in a position that requires you and yours to be with out a home heat or food .
Kim J October 13, 2012 at 05:15 AM
hahaa wow .this made my night. Replace her with some one that can get the job done. Single moms have one of the toughest jobs on Earth, and unless you have ever been in their position then you have no right to look down your nose at them. remember "thou shalt not judge". i notice its only men are upset, the same sex that abandons their own and leave the mothers to do it alone. Remember this could be your mother sister daughter aunt , I guess since its not , you can be so fast to put a mother and child out . Shame on you. and shame on whom ever this section 8 woman is.
Kim J October 13, 2012 at 05:27 AM
hey Joe Bill, The man upstairs has a way of teaching us all lessons.. He might teach you one and you end up losing your job ,home or maybe you daddys money or what ever it is that you survive on.Then you will have to deal with this housing person yourself. See how you like it. I am sure most women and even men wish they had life a little easier with a great job so they wouldnt need the help. I think any veteran that needs help deserves it. Get RId of that person who is doing this to these poor people. wonder if there is any one local that could check into this and have this person replaced! If they want I will take that job, get rid of her and hire me. Bet that is a good paying position and I would love to help make the system in Tewksbury a little better..

I thought she just didn't like me,. She talks to my landlord frequently. then he blurts out everything to me. he says .she"s helping me ya see< she likes me,she doesnt like any one on section 8,shes all for me cause Im the landlord . What is that all about? I feel like they are conspiring behind my back. He asks for more money and she gives it to him. he has not lifted 1 finger to repair the rat hole I live in. I work hard too, my child's dad is no where to be found! when I ask her well is there a problem? why is he calling you? she says well I cant tell you .. She definitely throws gas on the fire when it comes to me and my landlord, gives him hints on things he can do to me. Maybe they are related. Maybe they are dating now..It is so fishy . I know its supposed to be about 1/3 of your income , but if there is nothing included you are supposed to get a differential , She makes sure there isnt one. I know some folk are up set about people like me getting help. I am truly sorry that it bothers you. I will be on my feet soon and will be able to stand on my own, and if any one of you ever need help (even though now you dont and are pissed) I hope you get it. I would trade places with you any day, I hate being on section 8. I am forced to live in shacks lol. no kidding. I say we all turn her in!! . . This cant continue. I wish we could vote her out of that office!
