The Giving Tree Needs Help!

Every year at the Tewksbury Public Library, we sponsor a Giving Tree for the residents of the Tewksbury Hospital. As you walk into the entrance of the Library, you spy it immediately next to the stairs.

The purpose of this tree is for Tewksbury community members to find a way to help give to others in need during the holiday season. A list of needed items resides at the front desk and you can choose which item you'd like to purchase and wrap for someone.

What kind of items are on this wishlist? A pair of sweatpants. Pajamas. A couple of science fiction books. A bedside radio. You don't have to shop very hard or spend very much money to help make someone else's life a little better around the holidays.

The deadline to donate a gift for the tree is this weekend, December 14th, and we still have several items that haven't been claimed. So if you have the time and means to do a little extra good this season, please consider coming by the Library this week and picking something off the list. Not only will you make someone else's holiday, you will feel good, too, in being generous and good-hearted.

Thank you on behalf of the Tewksbury Hospital and the Tewksbury Public Library. Happy holidays to you and yours!
