Upcoming Cool Events for School Age Kids at the Library

The holidays are coming and so are lots of cool events for those days off!

If your kids are done with eating turkey the day after Thanksgiving, come by the library on Friday, November 29th for an Art Adventure for kids in kindergarten up through 6th grade. Drop by between 2:00pm and 3:00pm to do a cool art project. No registration required.

Does your child need reading practice? School aged children are invited to come and read to Linus, our favorite therapy dog at Barks & Books.  Linus (and his trainer Donna) are here on Mondays between 4:00pm and 5:00pm. You can sign up for a 15 minute appointment with just your child and Linus. He'll listen to them read and maybe lick a face, too. No parents allowed in the room at the time. Times book up fast, so call the Children's desk at 978-640-4496 to sign up for a slot in December on the 2nd, 9th or 16th.

No one likes a bully, so bring your child to our bully expert, Wayne Soares, on Monday, December 9th at 7:00pm. This program is called Anti-Bullying: the Power of Your Words and Actions and through a series of stories, Wayne will IMPROVE your confidence and self-esteem and teach what it is to be a true ROLE MODEL in and away from your school.  He'll also stress how to DO THE RIGHT THING when someone is being bullied and learn to stand up when you are the victim. This program is aimed at kids who are in Grade 3 and up and their parents. Please pick up a FREE ticket for this great event on beginning on November 25th at the Children's desk. Space is limited!

It's time for another Stuffed Animal Sleepover at the library! Kids of all ages can bring a stuffed animal to the Children's desk on Friday, December 13th any time during the day. They'll get to read, play and maybe get a special holiday visitor that night! Pick them up at the library on Saturday and keep watch for photos and a video of all the antics that happened that night. Watch one of our last sleepovers!

During Christmas week, the kids have no school, so what is there to do? Well...
