Audrey Hazel McAllister, 95

Formerly of Tewksbury.


The following information is provided by Tewksbury Funeral Home:

Audrey Hazel “Nannie” (Goddard) McAllister, age 95, passed away on July 10.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, William F. “Mac” McAllister, a retired Tewksbury Fire Fighter and her son, Tewksbury Fire Fighter, William J. McAllister, who died in the line of duty in 1972.

Audrey was born in 1917, in South Royalston, MA, the daughter of the late Effie C. (Woodard) and Walter E. Goddard, of Wendall, MA.   She had been in residence in Yorktown for the last five years, and had also lived in Wendall, MA, Somerville, MA, Woburn, MA, Tewksbury, MA and New Port Richey, FL.

Survivors include her son, Donald F. McAllister and his wife Sherrie of Londonderry, NH; a daughter, Ruth E. Simon and her husband William of Yorktown, VA; a daughter-in-law, Jo Ann (Brown) McAllister of Buzzards Bay, MA; grandchildren, Angela B. (McAllister) Lambert of Manchester, NH, John W. McAllister of Nashua, NH, Sean R. McAllister of Milford, NH, Scott C. Simon of Burke, VA, William G. “Greg” Simon of Virginia Beach, VA, Patrick J. Simon of Richmond, VA, and Kelly Ann (McAllister) Buttaci of Averill Park, NY; great grandchildren, Zachary C. Lambert of Nashua, NH, John W. Jr., and Audrey F. McAllister of Nashua, NH, James P. and Noah C. Simon of Burke, VA, Oliver D. and Mackellar W. Simon of Virginia Beach, VA, and Dean, Mason and Katherine “Katie”  Buttaci of Averill Park, NY.

She was also sister of the late Rupert Goddard and Jaspar Goddard.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.  on  Saturday morning, July 13, at the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, phone (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. Her Funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday in the funeral home, Rev. Nancy S. Rementer officiating. Interment will follow in Tewksbury Cemetery.

The family extends special thanks to Dr. Carmines and Dr. Cavazos of Newport News, VA, for the care provided to “Nannie” these past few years. The family also expresses appreciation to the staff of Riverside Hospice, Newport News, VA, and heartfelt thanks go to Laura, Megan, and Marie for their kind and compassionate care.
