Geraldine LaBonte-Murphy, 75

Lifetime Tewksbury resident.

Geraldine LaBonte-Murphy, age 75, a member of a well known Tewksbury family, died peacefully Saturday, Jan. 12) at the Blaire House of Tewksbury, with her beloved family at her side.  She was the wife of the late James Gosselin, and former wife of Wayne C. Murphy of Lowell.

She was born in Lowell, April 5, 1937, one of two children of Jesse and Anna (Mullins) LaBonte, and lived her entire life in Tewksbury.  She graduated from Keith Hall Catholic High School in Lowell.   While she raised her family, she worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Lowell Unemployment Office and as a waitress at the Jade East Restaurant, She also worked briefly for the Tewksbury Town Clerk. Geraldine was exceptionally well versed in the history of her beloved Town of Tewksbury.

She leaves three children, Paul J. LaBonte and his wife Judith (Ferrell) of Hudson, NH, James A. Gosselin Jr. also of Hudson, NH, and LeeAnne Gomes of Fall River, MA; five grandchildren, Melina LaBonte of Hudson, NH, Lauren Collette of Lawrence, Michaela Crowley of Wilmington, Riley Pitts and Dylan Pitts both of Billerica; a brother, Jesse R. LaBonte and his wife Winnie Mae of Tewksbury; several nieces and nephews; and was  anticipating the birth of her first great grandchild in February.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, January 19, from 4:00 to 6:30 in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, phone (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950.  Memorial Prayers will be offered Saturday evening at 6:30 in the funeral home.
