Janice A. Mazzoni, 72

Beloved wife, mother, and Nona.

Janice A. (Parziale) Mazzoni, a resident of Tewksbury for the past 47 years, died Tuesday evening, January 15, at the Wingate at Belvidere in Lowell, after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Richard W. “Dick” Mazzoni, with whom she had celebrated a 47th wedding anniversary this past March 22nd.

Janice was born in Boston, June 29, 1940, one of four children of the late Adolph and Anna (DeVeau) Parziale, and was raised in East Boston.  In her youth, she was an award winning dancer, and continued to enjoy dancing throughout her life. Upon her marriage to Richard in 1965, they moved to Tewksbury, where they raised their family.  She worked at Cablevision in Hudson, MA.

She was a communicant of St. William’s Church.

Janice and her husband enjoyed entertaining in their home, spending time with their family,  their family dogs, dining out, shopping, Caribbean cruising, and travels to Europe.

Besides her husband, she is survived by five children, Tamia Porter and her husband Wayne of Rollingsford, NH, Walter Mazzoni and his wife Barbara (White) Mazzoni of Londonderry, NH, Isla Anderson and her husband Scott of Pelham, NH, Delsie Holley and her husband Steven of Orlando, FL, Jolie Galka and her husband David of Apex, NC; ; a brother, Louie Parziale and his wife Linda of WA; a sister, Gail Weinstein and her husband Melvin of Randolph, MA nine grandchildren, Amanda and Jason Porter, Emily, Olivia, and Benjamin Mazzoni, Samantha Gannon and Mark Anderson, Beau, and Richard Hannon; one great grandson, Rory; several nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by her son Mark Mazzoni in 1972, and sister Joan Rizzuti.

Visiting hours Friday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, phone (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950.  Her funeral will begin Saturday at 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte. 38)  Tewksbury.  Burial will follow in Tewksbury Cemetery.  Memorials gifts to the Salvation Army, 150 Appleton St., Lowell, MA 01852.
