Feeding Birds

I have been taking my disable daughter to the Merrimack river by the UMass Lowell Bellegarde Boathouse in Lowell for approximately the past five years.  She really enjoys watching the all of the different birds that fly around and over the river.  At first I used to take bread with us to feed the birds like numerous other people. But shortly after, I stopped feeding the birds because they were becoming very brave and aggressive. Especially the seagulls and the pigeons.  The seagulls flying overhead and releasing their droppings and the pigeons trying to get into an open window of my vehicle and also releasing their droppings.  We continue to go to the river for walks and sit either on the wall or in my vehicle to enjoy the wildlife. Within  the past year, I have noticed a number of people the leaving an enormous amounts of feed for the birds, where ever they like and regardless of who is sitting or walking in the area.  I try to park down closer to the boat house because most of the people feed the birds, towards the entrance of the parking lot.  We were parked in the parking lot on Saturday afternoon, 12/21/2013. One of my friends had parked next to me. As soon as he parked his car, of course one of the birds left a present on his roof, after of course he just got it washed.  We noticed a woman dumping huge amounts of bird feed along the wall. As she got closer, my friend asked her, very courteously, to please not put down any of the bird feed behind his car. She smiled at us and proceeded to put down a large pile of feed on the walk way behind his car.  She continue doing the same until she reached the boathouse. She then got in her car, drove out of the parking lot, took a left towards Tyngsboro. When she passed behind us, she beeped her horn and held her middle finger high in the air as she drove off.  I would hate to see people like this, ruin it for the rest of us.
