Planet Fitness now TAC?

What happened and what does this mean for those who are/were Tewksbury Planet Fitness members?

The owner has offered the same rates to previous members. You should have received a form letter requesting you to renew your membership. Actually several letters were mailed. I received at least (3). All different colors.

Thanks Tony, odd that I didn't get the form letter you mentioned! I will have to stop by there and talk to them I guess! As long as the terms are the same then I guess I don't mind keeping my membership there!

concernedshopper - the letters, as far as I know, were mailed out to members that paid their fees by the year, $99.00 lump sum. I don't think they were mailed to members that paid month to month. Although, when I went to renew, I heard the manager talking to some people about the month to month rates. They were the same as when it was Planet Fitness.

I just received a card in the mail that advertises 2 people to use the Tewksbury Sports Club for $10.00 a month. Check with them to see if that would be applicable for you too.

Mary - That brochure was for the first (100) customers. And, I believe, directed to new customers. My wife and I are members at the $99 per year rate which is the same as when it was Planet Fitness. Except for cosmetics, it appears all the equipment is the same. TSC is going to have various classes but available at a higher monthly cost.

Thanks Tony D for clarifying that for me. I guess I have one question for you, being a member. I was considering joining a gym, but I would be a complete newbie to one. Do they show you how to operate the equipment and advise as to how long or how many repetitions to do the activity when you are first getting started. Thanks to anyone who can answer my questions.

Mary - You can sign up for a personal trainer but at an additional cost. He/She will show you which machines to use for what you want to accomplish. The cost is fairly expensive. They also have two "workout rooms" on the second floor. No additional cost to use them. You do a circuit of exercises in a specified number of minutes. I believe (30). TSC (Planet Fitness) is perfect for "newbies". No pressure - nobody looking over your shoulder. Join and work out at your own pace.

Thanks so much Tony D for answering my question. I really don't have the money for a personal trainer, so I will have to go on your advise to do the circuit of exercises in the specified number of minutes. Yes I would definitely be a newbie so the no pressure part is great. Thanks again!
